One of our long-standing creative partnerships is with St. Mary’s Bank, the nation’s first credit union. Our relationship began with a simple project: create a print ad for their Home Equity product that would break through the clutter of the newspaper noise, in a highly competitive banking field.

The ad featured an arresting image and a headline that was quirky, fun but not offensive, and most important, promoted the product. St. Mary’s loved the fun approach and that small project quickly turned into a full branch campaign. That first project, in 2007 has blossomed into a strong relationship that exists today.

Later that same year, St. Mary’s asked Rain to take some of that original thinking and develop a new “brand style” that could be used both in-house and in outward facing materials. The branding campaign developed featured: Tagline, In-branch POP design, Newspaper template, and TV ads that featured new brand elements and messaging

Those brand elements stood the test of time and resulted in several successful campaigns and projects. It wasn’t until 2010 when Rain was asked to refresh the brand, keeping the elements that St. Mary’s loved: funny, quirky headlines and arresting visuals – but evolving the message to include some serious elements as well.

“We can always count on Steve and the Rain team to come up with fun, effective campaigns that capture our voice and unique position in the marketplace. What I value most is their ability to listen to our business problem and turn it into a very fun creative solution. They are brand “hawks” and ensure that our materials maintain the look and feel we’ve established. They are responsive and have never shied away from a challenge or a tight deadline.” Elizabeth Stodolski, VP Marketing

Although Rain is proud of the work we do for our clients in finding programs that increase their sales and pipeline, the thing that gets us out of bed in the morning is making sure that these programs are supported by great creative. We’ve been in the creative business for over 20 years and still love that part of our job.
